An exhausting Monday

It was hard getting up and going to class after a busy weekend with two 5am nights. We had to get our books for class, and then took a trip to the market. I got my usual mozzarella and focaccia, but wanted to try another meat besides prosciutto (but keep in mind, there are many types of prosciutto to try- semi dolce, di parma (most expensive), etc- and that is just with prosciutto crudo!), so I decided on speck. I bought un etto, which is basically 1/8 kilogram, which breaks down into two nice servings. It was salty like prosciutto, but had a nice smoky flavor like bacon. My goal is to try a ton of new meats and cheeses, so I think that every other day I will buy something else, as well as trying the more expensive prosciutto.

We also got some produce. I bought zucchini (one of my favorite foods is sauteed zucchini and onions in garlic and olive oil) and oranges. Behold this beautiful orange:
It seems to be a cross between a regular orange, and a blood orange. Either way, it was the best orange I have ever had!

I am going to wrap it up now because 1) I am tired; 2) I didn't do/buy/eat very interesting stuff; and 3) I have to do homework (hi parents!)

Ciao!
